Privacy — not a footnote

If we can't trust each other with the data, the whole product falls apart.

This is not a policy document. It's the architecture. Here's exactly what is captured, where it lives, who can see it, and how to make it go away.

Videos live in a private Cloudflare bucket. No public URLs — only short-lived signed links that expire in 5 minutes, generated fresh each time you open a session.

Your child's recordings do not touch any ML model. Not ours, not a partner's, not now, not later.

Children see exactly what's captured before each session starts. No surprises.

Delete any session permanently. Bulk-clear any time. And everything auto-purges at 30 days regardless — always on, for every account.

The child's screen during the session
A silent video of whatever tabs, windows, and apps are visible.
A small webcam thumbnail (optional)
~200px corner inset. Can be disabled in settings at any time.
Session metadata
Start time, end time, pauses, total duration. Used for the summary.
Keystrokes or typed text
Never. We don't record keyboards. The video captures what's visible, not what's typed.
Microphone audio
Never. Audio is never captured, full stop.
Activity outside the session
Nothing. Recording starts at Start and ends at End. The rest of the day is invisible to us.
Location, contacts, browser history
Not captured, not asked for, not relevant.

Your child's laptop
Browser captures screen + optional webcam. Sent over HTTPS to our servers — nothing is stored on the laptop after the session.

Upload in 15-sec slices
Chunks stream to our server as the session runs — nothing is kept on the laptop after.

Cloudflare R2 (private)
Stored in a private bucket. Never publicly reachable — no one can guess a URL to your recordings. We scan nothing.

Your phone, only
A presigned 5-minute URL is generated when you open a session. It expires quickly.

You own it. We hold it on your behalf.

Delete on demand. Cancel on demand. And a hard 30-day ceiling on how long anything is kept, whether you ask or not.

Delete a single session
Open the session and delete it. The video, snapshots and timings go permanently — there is no undo.
Clear all recordings
One tap in settings deletes every video and thumbnail from storage. Session history and study stats are kept.
Auto-delete after 30 days
Automatic and mandatory. Every recording is deleted 30 days after the session, on every account — there is nothing to switch on, and no way to keep one longer.
Cancel
Two clicks. We email you, then 7 days later every recording and your whole study history is permanently deleted. Resubscribe inside that week and nothing is lost — after it, nothing is kept.
