For the kid reading this

Nobody in your room.
Nobody reading over your shoulder.

imdoingitnow is the deal you make with your parent so they finally leave you alone. You do the work, your way. They see one short summary. That's it.

See what it looks like ↓Exactly what gets recorded
// The deal

Here's what you give. Here's what you get.

You give
  • A recording
    Your screen, while you're studying. That's the price of admission. It's the proof.
  • The minutes you said you'd do
    If the goal was 90, you do 90. Breaks are fine — the timer waits.
You get
  • Zero questions
    No 'did you study?' No 'are you actually working?' They already know. Because they can see.
  • Your own room, your own pace
    Music on. Door shut. Snack runs. Bathroom breaks. It's your session.
  • Done means done
    Finish early and the evening is yours. Nobody's going to stretch it.
  • A streak that's actually for you
    Nobody else sees your streak. It's just a little number that goes up when you show up.
// The whole app

This is what you'll see.

One big timer. A goal your parent set. Pause when you need to. Press end when you're done. That's the whole thing.

Things people think we record. Things we don't.

Because it matters, and because we know it's the first thing you want to know.

Your microphone
Off. Always. We never ask for it.
Your keystrokes
We don't log typing. We see what's on your screen, not what's in your head or on your keys.
Your phone
Totally untouched. Your phone is your phone.
Anything outside a session
The second you press End, we stop. Between sessions you're invisible to us.
Other apps on the laptop
If the window isn't visible, it's not in the recording.
Your friends in the recording
Only your parent can open the video. We don't watch, share, or repost. Nothing touches the internet outside your family's vault.
// Things you control

It's your session. You run it.

Pause anytime
Snack. Bathroom. Dog. The timer waits. Pauses show up in the summary — they're fine.
Turn off the webcam
You can study without the corner cam. It's one toggle in settings.
End early if it's done
Finished the essay in 60? Press End. Parent sees 60 minutes, essay done.
Ask to delete a session
If something weird happened mid-session, tell your parent — they can delete it in one tap.
// One more thing

We're not going to pretend this is perfect.

A recording is a recording. It's not nothing. We know that. If you had a choice between this and total privacy, most people would pick total privacy — us too.

But the alternative — someone sitting in the room, someone checking every hour, someone asking "did you really?" — is worse. This is the least-invasive trade we could design. You give up one thing. You get the rest of your evening back.

If you ever want to see the settings, the recordings, or anything else — just ask your parent. Everything is visible, nothing is hidden.

Show this to your parent.

It's cheaper than the fights, quieter than the lectures, and over in 90 minutes.
